Tay Grin, who has made strides in his music including featuring several international acts in his songs, has collaborated with Ugandan top artist Bebe Cool.
Bebe Cool, real name Moses Sali, is a top African reggae and ragge musician.
He was one of the first artists to be affiliated with Ogopa DJs, a production house and record label in Kenya.
The artist has performed at the Big Brother Africa twice.
In 2014, Bebe Cool’s ‘Born In Africa’ remix song was voted among Africa’s greatest songs of all time. The song came at number 15 in 50 anthems for the African continent.
In recent times, Tay Grin has collaborated with artists such as Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee in the song ‘Tola’ which has earned him a nomination for Best Male Artist in Southern Africa in the All Africa Music Awards.
He has also worked with Nigeria’s 2 Baba in the song ‘Chipapapa’.
Ugandan artist Bebe Cool confirmed the development on his Facebook page.
“Thanks for all your prayers, evil [is] defeated and I am out this evening. To greater news I will be heading to Gulu town and will be joined by a special friend, Malawian top artist Tay Grin, who arrives tonight (Monday).
He further said:
“Me and Tay Grin joined up in a collabo last year produced by Andre and we feel now is the time for Africa to feel it. ‘One More Touch’.
On the choice of Gulu, Bebe Cool said it was time to show Ugandans and the rest of the world that Uganda was a beautiful country with attractive sceneries worth a visit.
Tay Grin, who will also have a show thereafter, said he met Bebe Cool at Trace.
“We met at a Trace interview last year. We got introduced and expressed how we were both keen to work on something together and that as African stars it was time to be united and work together to push our music far,” he said.
The ‘Chipapapa’ star added:
“We are like-minded artists and both very hard working, so it’s been a pleasure working, on this single. We are shooting in Guru which is a very symbolic place in Uganda and the idea is to grow my brand in Uganda and likewise Bebe Cool in Malawi,” he said.
The song was done by Bebe Cool.
The artist is expected back home Friday.
