TNM Super League outfit TN Stars are yet to regroup ahead of the new season following misunderstanding s among executive members.
According to inside sources who confided with The Daily Times but asked for anonymity, divisions among club officials are hampering arrangements for commencement of pre-season training.
“Things are not well at TN Stars. As I am talking to you, we have not regrouped because some stakeholders are not willing to work with newly-elected members. Attempts are also being made to fire the team manager on accusations that he is not cooperating with the new committee,” said the source.
However the club’s chairperson, Elias Yasin, downplayed the misunderstandings, saying all is well at the Kasungu-based side.
Yasin said the team was set to regroup yesterday to start preparations for the new season.
“The team may not have regrouped but this does not mean that we are sleeping. We have been making arrangements to start our preparations and we are now ready. Let me also categorically state here that there are no misunderstandings at the club. We still have time for preparations and we are not late,” Yasini said.
TN Stars are one of the teams that battled relegation in the 2018 season as they had a bad away record.
But their strong showing at home helped them to survive the chop and finish on ninth position with 36 points.
