Tay Grin is back from his world tour where, among other things he performed in countries such as Iceland, South Africa and the United States of America.
Upon his arrival, the artist announced his plans of working with Janet Foundation and UN Women later during the year as a way of ensuring girls in the country receive adequate education.
“We plan on visiting approximately 50 schools in the country where re-usable sanitary pads as well as various materials donated by well wishers will be distributed. In addition to this, we will have career talks with the girls on the importance of staying in school,” Tay Grin said.
The artist who is the HeForShe ambassador, urged fellow artists and Malawians to join the cause in promoting girl child education.
“We have to join the cause in ensuring girls acquire good education but this is only possible if the country, works together. There are many ways to help and I urge us all to help whichever way we can,” he added.
His trip to Iceland proved to be fruitful as the musician stated that his performance at the festival in Iceland yielded funds amounting to K800,000 which will be used for outreach projects planned for the year.
Tay Grin departed for his tour last month. The artist was fortunate enough met American rappers Rick Ross, Big Sean and Young M.A.
On whether his fans in Malawi should expect summer hits and collaborations with international and national artists, Tay Grin said his fans should be on the lookout for great music before the year ends.
The ‘2 By 2’ star is expected to depart for Ireland and the United Kingdom for the remaining part of his tour on July 25.
